Zaanse Schans

Off we go for a day in the country.

Anne is becoming an expert at buying tickets. Luckily we asked for confirmation of our train and found out we needed to get the one on the adjacent platform.  A bit like Challenge Day.

Arrived at our destination which is very picturesque.  A shame that it smells like you have stuck your head in a bag of dynamic lifter. It has cleared Eva's blocked nose, though.

After getting to the tourist village, we carbo loaded with a roll. Tony had a couple of hairs of the dog. (By now, the dog looks as if its got the mange.)

The cheese makers excelled at their craft but we (read: Glenn) sampled and left.

We visited the clog factory and saw how a clog was made. Strange how they used machinery made in Germany and France.

We strolled along the windmill path, intending to take the ferry across the river and return via a walk through the village. The ferry wasn't running so we returned to the car and gave Tony directions back to the barge.
